Staff night out - Tignes Les Brevieres

We had a great staff night out yesterday, which involved sledging all the way from Les Boisses to Les Brevieres. It was great fun, and surprisingly resulted in fewer crashes than expected!

Top marks to Dan who seemed to be the most controlled sledge pilot!

We then had a meal in Le Bouida, accompanied by many drinks, where the night continued back in Tignes Le Lac!

The current ski conditions in Tignes are absolutely fantastic.
After so much snowfall, we now have many days predicted of brilliant sunshine. The pistes are perfect, the off-piste is great, and the weather is very warm! It doesn't get any better than this.

We now have 600+ guests booked in for this winter, which is great news for The TCC.

First of all, Happy New Year!

Lavachet Lodge
Our new option, of budget ski accommodation in Tignes, is proving very popular.
In just a few weeks of taking bookings, we already have over 50 people booked in.

6 out of 7 rooms are twin ensuites, and cost £30 per person per night, or £185 for the week.

Internet and Freeview TV is included, as is the use of the kitchen to make evening meals.

It is ski-in and ski-out in Tignes Le Lavachet. It is in a very convient location, with 2 bars nearby, restaurants, the bus stop next door, and also the supermarket. There is also a liftpass office and a ski hire shop within a stone's throw.

A continental breakfast is included, and tea and coffee throughout the day.

Xmas Update

Happy belated to Xmas to everyone!

The snow is currently fantastic in Tignes. We have had a week of great sunshine, and now more snow is forecasted tonight and tomorrow.

The rennovation of the Lavachet Lodge (cheap ski hostel in Tignes) went to plan, and had it's first guests last week. It is working really well as a cheap option for ski accommodation in Tignes.

Chalet La Tourne has had a busy week, with a group of 21 for Xmas, and both Chalet Attiques are also full.

We have also just booked in the second of our corporate ski trips for the season. This will be for approx 36 people, who will be staying in the Hotel Ski d'Or in Val Claret. We plan to make this a great weekend ski trip for them in March!

The blizarrd continues! 500+ chalet guests

As the first guests arrive at the new chalet, Attique 39, the transfers are delayed into resort, because of road closing due to danger of avalanches. It has snowed over a metre in the last 2 days, and is set to continue tomorrow.

Many hours have been spent digging out minibuses in the last few days!

The picture here is at the top of the funiculare, at 3000m, at the foot of the glacier!

As this continues, we celebrate over 500 guests booked in for the season 2011/2012. It's going to be a good one!

The snow is now falling extremely hard in Tignes.

We are now coming to the end of the pre-season accomodation for the race trainees. From 10th, the holiday guests arrive, to enjoy all the new snow!

We now have 450+ guests booked in for the season. 45cm of snow fell last night and the same predicted for tonight.

All in all great news for the season!

Matt arrived last night; a minibus packed full of new skis for the Ultimate Snowsports ski instructors, and more items for the chalet.
The additional chalet stock will be unloaded into the 2nd chalet (Chalet La Tourne) and will be made ready for the Snoworks clients arriving on Saturday.
Snow is expected this weekend...

End of October Tignes

Simon arrived with chalet manager Tom on Thursday night in Tignes.
The first catered chalet is now underway with guests. Ben and Caroline have successfully catered for the race trainees for 2 nights already, and are having their first ski of the season today up on the glacier - conditions are excellent!
The office is soon to be in action, and the first beds have been unloaded into the new Attique chalets.

Corporate Ski Trips & 300+ guests!

After a 14 hour drive, Ben arrived back in Tignes this morning, and is now there for the winter. Si and Matt are soon to follow.

The first corporate ski trip of the 2011/12 winter season was finalised today. The TCC are organising for a group of 15, staying in a great 3star Hotel in Tignes Val Claret, Ecrin du Val Claret. Looking forward to this trip; we might get to organise some ice karting and sledging!

All the catered ski chalets ran by The TCC are now 46% full, and we now have over 300 guests booked in for this 2011/12 season!

October Update

It's getting very chilly now, and the winter is not far away.

The accounts from last year have been completed, and now moving on to more exciting things to do!
The main shopping for the winter has now been completed. The new beds have been loaded into the minibuses, the snowtyres are soon to be fitted, the ferries have been booked, and the first of us are set to leave for Tignes this weekend. Looking forward to accommodating all the race trainees from Oct 31st onwards.

X Games in Tignes!

The Tignes Chalet Company is proud to announce that the X-Games are to be hosted in Tignes March 10-12 2010.
This is the first time that the event has been held outside the United States.
There will be 8 different competitions over 3 days, including ski and snowboard superpipe and slopestyle for men and women, as well as snowmobile demonstration!
