Eurostar opens for tickets today - and a new service!
Eurostar opens ticket sales to ski resorts...
"Train enthusiasts, reluctant fliers and green skiers will be able to book their journeys to the Alps on the popular Eurostar services from 31st July.
Ticket sales will be open five months in advance of next winter’s ski holidays, offering a selection of direct day and night train services that link the UK with such Alpine gateway destinations as Moutiers and Bourg St Maurice. The 2014-2015 winter services will run weekly from 19th December until 11th April and skiers can purchase return fares from £149.
Skis and boards travel free.
Eurostar runs a Friday overnight service which arrives in the French Alps early on a Saturday morning, with the return leg departing late on a Saturday evening -- perfect for skiers and boarders looking to maximise their time on the slopes.
Alternatively, if travelling on one of the Saturday daytime services, passengers can sit back, relax, and enjoy stunning views of the French countryside before they arrive rested and ready to ski.
There will also be a new Eurostar connecting service to Geneva via Lille commencing on 14 December.
Tickets will be released in October this year, offering skiers another convenient way to travel to some of the most popular ski resorts in Switzerland.
Tickets are available from www.eurostar.com or by calling 03448 224 777. Eurostar is changing the booking number permanently to 03432 186 186 from 1st August."
